An Interview with Caroline Charles 29 Oct 2019
We recently visited Christina Pettigrew of Caroline Charles to discover more about the fabulous fashion designs available in store as well as some interesting facts about the business.
Tell us about Caroline Charles?
Caroline Charles has run a successful business for over 50 years. She started the iconic label back in 1963, aged just 21! She was one of the leading designers in the explosion of demand in the US during the 1960s for clothes from young British designers. Over the years, her customers have included Mick Jagger, Ringo Star, Diana Princess of Wales, Barbra Streisand just to name a few. Caroline Charles was made an OBE and in 2012 Caroline Charles – 50 years in fashion was published.
We couldn’t possibly pick a favourite style for Autumn, we just absolutely love it all! We have pieces for all occasions that are extremely versatile and can be dressed up ready for an evening out or dressed down for a more casual affair.
The Caroline Charles client list is an international group of women with working, travelling and busy social lives. The beautiful classic cuts, high standard of manufacture and quality fabrics are the foundations on which the label was built. Caroline Charles collections show a leading designer’s love of textiles, cut and finish as well as skilled craftsmanship, inherent style and a sense of fun.
We really like to mix things up here at Caroline Charles so there isn’t necessarily one essential item we think you should wear with every outfit. We do however recommend that you should have a classic little black dress, black crepe trousers and a black pencil skirt as your wardrobe essentials and each item can be easily transformed into a fantastic outfit.
What’s your favourite thing about Montpellier Courtyard?
Our favourite part of Montpellier Courtyard is that it is lovely to be part of a family. Everyone helps and looks after each other which provides a real sense of community.
